Jibreel Black de-commits

Our highest rated recruit for next years class has de-committed from the hoosiers. Jibreel Black was a 4 star recruit with around 20 scholarship offers. He has decided to commit to Cincinnati. I was looking forward to seeing him get playing time his freshman year because we will be graduating both of our starting defensive ends. This happened last year as well with Jeremy Gainer and Kenny Watkins deciding to go elsewhere as well.

Here are some quotes from Jibreel:

“I’ve been watching Cincinnati and the success they’ve had in the Big East. They continue to rise in the Big East and on a national level and I wanted to be part of that continued success. I want to be part of a program that will compete for championships. Right now Indiana is working towards that but has not reached that level.”

“I picked IU because I thought it was the best decision for my family. But in the end I knew I had to make the change and do what was right with me. After talking with Coach Lynch I called and spoke with Coach Kelly on Sunday night about six o’clock. I told Coach Kelly of my plans and he welcomed me to the Bearcats and told me how happy the coaching staff and he were and said it was a long wait but he knew I’d come around someday.”
