Damon Sims to redshirt

Bill Lynch has decided to redshirt freshman linebacker Damon Sims. Before the year started there was a decent shot that he might be able to play linebacker and on special teams. Damon had been traveling with the team all year. This decision will most likely be beneficial for both him and the team in the long run.

There is still no word on whether or not Ed Wright-Baker and Mitch Ewald will play this season. At this point in the year it will probably be better for them to redshirt. The limited amount of playing time they could get the rest of the year probably wouldn't be very beneficial for the program while burning a year of eligibility.
