3 Reasons to like Coach Lynch

There has been a lot of debates on whether or not Coach Lynch is the guy to be leading our hoosier football program. I am not going to debate whether or not he will be our coach for the long haul but here are my top 3 reasons of why I like the guy.

1. Personable- Coach Lynch is probably one of the most personable guys I've ever met. He always takes the time to talk to me after a practice or after the signing day press conference. He remembers who you are and things that you have talked about. He has always responded to every e-mail I've ever sent him and encourages fans to give recommendations about how to improve the hoosier program.

2. Upgrade in recruiting- Lynch isn't a nationwide know recruiter and hasn't landed tons of 5 star recruits, but he has improved the overall talent level in our program through his recruiting. Although he isn't too big on the stars that are placed on recruits here is a break down in the improvement over the last few years.
_______2007_____ 2008_____ 2009_____ 2010
4 Stars___ 0_______ 0_______ 1 _______ 1
3 Stars___ 5 ______ 5 _______ 12 _______ 9
2 Stars___ 14 _____ 14_______ 6 _______ 12

There are many players from the 2010 class who aren't ranked and a few that I think will get upgraded by the end of their senior seasons.

3. Ties to certain states- Although the state of Indiana isn't generally known as a loaded football state, the talent pool is increasing dramatically every year. Lynch has been a coach in the area for over 30 years. Lynch and the rest of the staff also have a ton of ties to the state of Ohio. Our pipelines consist of Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia, and Florida. We have the right pipelines it will just take a few more bowl seasons before he can recruit the cream of the crop from those states.

  2. Sure he may be a nice guy but being a people person never won anyone a football game. As far as better recruiting, we were bringing in players so low to begin with that there's almost nowhere to go but up. Lastly, our recruiting pipeline is geared towards the lesser players in those states -- the players in Ohio that OSU doesn't want to bother with or in Florida that UF doesn't want.

  3. Now i'm not saying Lynch is the best X's and O's kind of guy. I know he's not the best football coach and being personable doesn't win games. I have heard tons of Lynch bashing for the last two years and simply wanted to say that not everything is terrible about Coach Lynch.

  4. Gawd... I can't believe anyone likes Coach Lynch. He Matt Clark could totally do a better job of coaching.

  5. You know why he answers all of your emails? Because he hopes to hire you on when you graduate. He knows you know more about the program than he does.
