Early look at 2011 Prospects

It is still early but I wanted to give everyone some names that IU is going after for the 2011 class. Looking at IU historically, most of their commitments occur over the summer when they can bring kids they like onto campus and evaluate them while they are here. Most kids like to commit somewhere before their senior season starts and this is why a majority of our class will be formed during the summer months.
Here is an early list of some players IU has offered scholarships.

5 stars

Lawrence Thomas (Renaissance HS) Detroit, MI- is seems like a long shot because he is the #1 rated MLB according to scout.com but one of his teammates (Ishmael Thomas) will be a freshman at IU next year. He is 6'4 and 230 lbs with offers from Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Alabama and a ton of other schools. He is listed as expressing medium interest in IU.

4 stars

Ryan Kelly (Lakota West HS) West Chester, OH- he is the #1 rated center according to scout.com. He is 6'5 270 lbs and has offers from Cincinnatti and Louisville. He is listed as expressing medium interest in IU.

Jordan Walsh (Glenbard West HS)Glen Ellyn, IL- number 2 rated offensive guard according to scout.com. He is listed at 6'4 270 lbs. He has other offers from Arizona, Illinois, Purdue among others. He has expressed medium interest in IU.

Ray Hamilton (Strongsville HS)Strongsville, OH- a 6'5 230 lbs tight end. He is expressing medium interest in IU and has offers from Cal, Boston College, Pittsburgh among others.

Kiaro Holts (Warren Central HS)Indianapolis, IN- 6'5 260 lb offensive tackle from Indianapolis. Warren Central has provided IU with many players in the past. He is expressing medium interest in IU and has offers from Cinci, MSU, and Kentucky among others.

Kris Harley (Warren Central HS)Indianapolis, IN- 6'2 260 lb defensive tackle also from Warren Central. He is expressing medium interest in IU and has offers from Iowa, Oklahoma and USC among many others.

The list is extremely long and will look very different as kids commit places and announce which schools make their final cut. You can see an early list of who we have offered and are targeting here. Coach Lynch has done a good job of upgrading the overall talent level in the program and should expect a similar class this year as we have the last couple of years.
