Opportunity at DT

This upcoming game is going to be a great opportunity for our young defensive tackles to show their abilities. With the one-game suspension of Deonte Mack the 2-deep seems to change almost every day but I think the most recent one has Jarrod Smith and Larry Black as the starters. Last year we were able to bring in physically bigger and stronger kids at the DT position than we have in years past. This is going to be a great opportunity for the 3 redshirt freshman Black, Mentzer, and Sliger along with true freshman Adam Replogle to get some experience under their belt. Coach Lynch mentioned that last spring was when Sliger and Mentzer really seperated themselves but this fall Larry Black has made the same transition. This could be the reason why Black is listed as a starter but you never know because the starters seem to change everyday. We may be young at the position but it could turn out to be one of our biggest strengths in years to come.
